The Giant Panda is one of the world most recognisable animals with its black and white markings. As a member of the bear family, the Panda is also one of the worlds' most endangered species. Experts estimate their numbers to be around 3,000 and which is restricted to only a few regions of China. Panda bear cubs are born extremely small, at birth they weigh around 100grams. After four weeks they have their typical black and white fur and after 6-8 weeks, they open their eyes for the first time. They remain with their mother for about two years and are very playful. Pandas feed primarily on bamboo.
