The cassowary is a flightless bird native to the northern tropical forests of Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Cassowaries are very shy animals, but when provoked they are capable of inflicting injuries to dogs and people, although extremely rare. The cassowary is the third tallest and second heaviest living bird (behind the emu and ostrich).

If only it was bigger!
By: Jean on 21 January 2021Putting together a set of Australian animals for a day care group it’s been difficult to find decent sized items for small children to handle. Village Toys have been very helpful supplying larger animals The cassowary is beautifully detailed so much smaller than we’d hoped.
